Intensive Program Overview

At NSDA our Intensive Program is for dedicated dancers who prioritize their passion for dance above all other extracurricular activities. This program is perfect for those who are eager to dive deep into technique and build not only their skills but also lasting friendships and strong foundations in dance.

Our Intensive Program is designed for dancers who are passionate and dedicated to their craft. If dance is your top priority and you’re eager to enhance your technique, build amazing skills, and create lasting friendships, then this is the program for you. Students study multiple days a week in multiple genres to nurture a well-rounded dancer.  The Intensive core requirement is a study of Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Lyrical.  Students also have the opportunity to study Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Acro and additional technique classes.

Throughout the year, our dancers will have the opportunity to participate in 2-3 competitions in an environment that celebrates one another through wins and challenges.  We offer the option to attend additional competitions to soloists who would like to do more and offer a variety of optional conventions to our dancers throughout the year.

We believe that this program will not only create skilled dancers but also well-rounded individuals who understand the value of discipline, commitment, and teamwork.  

The intensive program at NSDA requires an intensive summer requisite where an informal evaluation takes place.   It is required that intensive dancers have prior dance experience in the core genres we study.  The intensive program is not for beginners.
