Julie McKie
Miss Julie grew up in Peabody. As a child she was a student at the original studio that eventually became the first home of North Shore Dance Academy. As owners came and went she stayed and now jokes that “she just came with the building”. Since she spent so much time at the studio anyway, as a teen she began assisting classes and eventually became a teacher. She earned her teaching certificate from The Dance Teachers Club of Boston. Trained in Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Jazz and Acro, Miss Julie has been teaching students ages 3-18 for the past 28 years.
Certified by Leap N’ Learn she currently enjoys working with our younger students as they experience the joys of dance. Married to her high school sweetheart for 21 years now, she is also a busy mother to 3 daughters who also share her love of dance. A graduate of Endicott College with a degree in Fashion Design, Miss Julie has worked in Boston Ballet’s costume department. She is our studio seamstress and has designed several costumes for North Shore Dance Academy as well as local area ice skating teams. Dance has always been a part of who she is and loves helping other welcome dance into their lives.
